RiverOaks Chorus is delighted to partner with Hope the Mission! (formerly Hope of the Valley)
Since 2009, Hope the Mission has been providing more than just food, hygiene, shelter referrals and clothing to homeless members of our community. They provide just what their name suggests – Hope.
In its years of operation, Hope the Mission has served thousands of hot, nutritious meals; distributed thousands of articles of clothing; provided more than 220 thousand showers; provided hundreds of referrals for shelter; and housed hundreds of people .
Homeless services include:
-
Five Thrift Stores (Granada Hills, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Lancaster and Palmdale), the proceeds from which support homeless services.
-
A Day Help Center in Van Nuys, which provides showers, clothing, hot lunch, mail service and case management for homeless clients.
-
Five group homes providing addiction recovery programs and supportive living for single men and women, families and former foster teens.
-
Cold weather emergency shelters in Pacoima and the Antelope Valley.
-
A Navigation Center in North Hollywood, which provides showers, case management and storage for personal items.

Many people, a good number of them women, find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons. The caring Hope the Mission staff doesn’t ask why or how; they open their arms and hearts to help. The stories are sad but the ending doesn’t have to be.
